Detecting Document Fraud in Migration – part II

On 21 and 22 January 2020 a two-day technical seminar unde the title “Detecting Document Fraud in Migration – part II” took place, organised jointly by EMN Greece and EMN Luxembourg. The topic chosen served as a sequence to the technical seminar on the same topic organized in December 2018. Attendees of the event came from decentralized immigration services, citizenship services and the police while those attending long distance were from the Reception Centres of the islands of Northern Aegean Sea, immigration services of Northern Greece and Reception Centres of Northern Greece. Reaching out to frontliners from these services and areas of Greece has been a tremendous success of this event and it was made possible because of the provision of interpreting in Greek and English and in the provision of the streamline.

Attendance included representatives from Greece, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden. A wide variety of organizations and member states considered it useful to respond to our invitation and send speakers to present their experience and exchange know how, namely Frontex, Europol, the Police of Netherlands, the Police and Border Guard of Estonia, BAMF Germany, the Greek Ministry of Interior/ Citizenship Directorate, SEF of Portugal, the Ministry of Justice of Netherlands, the University of Pireaus.
